But we can’t be too busy to disciple our kids. As we study James as a church, we’ve provided some tools for you to help you make these lessons come alive to your kids. Each week, we hope you will as a family:

1. Decide how you can do an Act of Worship as a family.

2. Memorize the key verse each week.

3. Read and discuss the appropriate journal with your kids.

The Big Dog Journal is basically for kids that read. The Little Big Dogs Journal is essentially for kiddos that you need to read to. If I had a kid that was about 7 or 8 years old, I’d probably do both — have them read the Big Dogs Journal on their own, and I would read the poems in the Little Big Dogs to them still.

Big Dog Journals

Week 1: Winning by Losing (James 1:1-12 with most focus on 1-4 and 9-12)

Week 2: Just Do It! (James 1:5-22 with most focus on 5-8, 13-18 and 22)

Week 3: Losing My Own Way (James 1:19-27)

Little Big Dog Journals
